the end of September finally brings us a new album of the German Horror Metal masters: The Vision Bleak return with "Witching Hour", a sophisticated concept album about witches and witchcraft.
Also due for release at the end of September is the debut of Markus Siegenhort's (Lantlôs) wave projekt LowCityRain, transferring the 80ies into the present by mixing influences like The Cure and Killing Joke with dream pop like M83.
Please also notice that due to the (still) huge demand, we are releasing new vinyl print-runs of all Alcest albums and the "BBC Live Session" in new colours on August 2nd.

Ende September erwartet uns endlich ein neues Album der deutschen Horror-Metal-Meister: The Vision Bleak kehren mit "Witching Hour" zurück, einem durchdachten Konzeptalbum über Hexen und Hexerei.
Am gleichen Termin erscheint zudem das Debüt von Markus Siegenhorts (Lantlôs) Wave-Project LowCityRain, welches mit einem Mix aus The Cure, Killing Joke und Dreampop wie M83 die 80er in die Gegenwart befördert.

The clock strikes twelve, witching hour - The Vision Bleak have returned! Three years after "Set Sail To Mystery", the masters of Horror Metal have undergone creative rejuvenation. With the spontaneity and playfulness of "Witching Hour", Schwadorf and Konstanz hark back to their debut „The Deathship Has A New Captain", and the slogan "creepy and haunting entertainment" has not been more topical and fitting ever since 2004. The comprehensive witchcraft concept of "Witching Hour" highlights the duo as morbid storytellers with a bizarrely brutal, yet also entertaining assortment of fairytales and myths up their sleeves. Familiar elements such as groovy, driving riffs, sublime, melodic lead guitars and Konstanz' unique voice are still the defining characteristics, yet new implementations like the haunting flute or the most versatile and sinister vocals so far are crucial to the fact that "Witching Hour" in its entirety sounds more dour and unfathomable than earlier recordings.

Die Uhr schlägt zwölf, Geisterstunde - The Vision Bleak sind zurück! Drei Jahre nach "Set Sail To Mystery“ haben sich die Meister des Horror Metal mit ihrem mittlerweile fünften Album "Witching Hour" einer kreativen Frischzellenkur unterzogen. Schwadorf und Konstanz knüpfen mit der Spontaneität und Spielfreude von „Witching Hour“ an ihr Debütalbum „The Deathship Has A New Captain“ an, und auch der damals gewählte Slogan „creepy and haunting Entertainment“ ist heute so aktuell und treffend wie seit 2004 nicht mehr. Das umfassende Hexen-Konzept von „Witching Hour“ zeigt das Duo als morbide Geschichtenerzähler mit einem bizarr brutalen, aber auch äußerst unterhaltsamen Schatz von und Märchen und Mythen in der kalten Hinterhand. Weiterhin prägen bewährte Charakteristika wie groovig-treibenden Riffs, erhaben melodische Lead-Gitarren und Konstanz’ unnachahmliche Stimme das Bild, aber Neuerungen wie die effektiv eingesetzte, geisterhafte Querflöte oder der bis dato facettenreichste und finsterste Gesang tragen einen entscheidenden Teil dazu bei, dass „Witching Hour“ in seiner Gesamtheit abgründiger und unheilvoller klingt als frühere Aufnahmen.

LowCityRain expresses Markus Siegenhort's (Lantlôs) penchant for the music and aesthetics of the original Wave movement, interpreting the lifestyle of the 1980s in his own way. His main inspiration therefore comes from Post Punk and Wave bands such as The Cure, Killing Joke or Asylum Party, yet also contemporary Dreampop or Chillwave artists like M83 and Washed Out.
LowCityRain's self-titled debut depicts the world from which it has emerged in a multifacetous, yet imposing way: "LowCityRain" is solitude and hope, distraction, exhilaration and escapism. It expresses your struggle with personal shortcomings and insecurity under the guise of 1980s fashion and dolce vita - the longing for comfort, dancing lonely with your eyes closed, a solitary drive through the city at night and the aloofness of the girl who doesn't even know you...
